The months of June and July are a baseball fan’s dream on Cape Cod. Every summer, elite college players from around the country are recruited to play in the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL). Ten teams play a 40-game season before three rounds of playoffs get started in August. See adjacent map for team locations. Our vacation rental is close to four of the most eastern CCBL ballparks: Orleans, Brewster, Harwich, and Chatham.
Did you Know?
One in every six Major League Baseball players has played in the Cape Cod Baseball League. Notable recent MLB players include Aaron Judge (2012), Chris Sale (2009), Kris Bryant (2011), and George Springer (2009-10).
Our family loves coming to Cape League games! Admission is always free, and there’s usually a playground near the field for those kids not necessarily interested in the game. Our son’s favorite game activity, however, is chasing down foul balls in hopes of snagging a souvenir. He managed to get three – from three different ball parks! – this past summer.
